DARZALEX® Treatment:
DARZALEX® in combination with Velcade®
(bortezomib) + dexamethasone
The frequency and length of DARZALEX® infusions decreases over time.
On average, the first DARZALEX® infusion may take about 7 hours. However, your doctor may choose to give the first dose as two shorter infusions over two consecutive days.
Future infusions will take less time and last 3 to 5 hours, not including check-in and check-out time. After the initial rounds, DARZALEX® treatments are needed only once every four weeks.
Other medicines in this regimen are given as follows:
- Velcade® (bortezomib) by injection or IV infusion on days 1, 4, 8, and 11 of each 21-day cycle for a total of 8 cycles*
-
dexamethasone by mouth once daily on days 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, and 12 for a total of eight 21-day cycles†
- On DARZALEX® infusion days, dexamethasone may be given as a pre-infusion medication and continued as a pre-medication after Vd discontinuation
*Please refer to the bortezomib Prescribing Information for more detailed information about twice-weekly bortezomib dosing.
†Your dexamethasone dosing may be modified by your doctor. Please see the DARZALEX® Prescribing Information for more information.
